An affirmation is a statement or declaration of a desired outcome or condition that is intentionally exclaimed as real, actual, and truthful, to firmly fix it in one’s mind. The use of positive thinking or positive mental attitude (PMA) is not new. Research has shown that affirmations are a powerful way to add new information to our subjective mind, and the process of PMA is amplified by the writing and reciting of affirmations.
In the beginning your new affirmations may feel awkward or fake. As you persist in their use, repeating affirmations will become more genuine, feel more natural, and indeed become real.
